The Taming Of The Shrew

by William Shakespeare

And another Shakespeare in 2009. It's The Taming of the Shrew this time, a rather ribald burlesque, still strongly influenced by the Commedia Dell'Arte. But with its strong bawdy allusions (rather than erotic innuendos) it mates nicely with the birth of fifties rock and roll, which, in the true sense of the word, is a music about mating. So, plenty of Shakespearean sex talk meets with the emerging teenager awareness and their first attempts to find out what's possible down below, authentic costumes and original music included. Kate and Petruchio were rockers! Don't miss it!
